The Leave of Chaox

Chaox was once a renowned professional player of TSM. But now he left TSM and WildTurtle took his place. Rain Man also left the team earlier. His fans all concern about the event. Why would Chaox leave? Is it his plan or the decision of the team? Let’s see it together.

Official statement of TSM WildTurtle Replacing Chaox as Starter on TSM

After many hours of debate and much consideration, the management of SoloMid has decided to replace Chaox with WildTurtle on a permanent basis. We are extremely grateful to Chaox for all he has contributed over the last two years and it is with a heavy heart that we bid him goodbye. The accomplishments TSM achieved with Chaox on the team will be remembered for as long as people play League of Legends. WildTurtle will be the AD carry for TSM from this week onwards. We are confident this change will be a positive one in the long run; TSM have their eyes firmly on the top of the podium.
For interviews and behind the scenes footage showing the road to this outcome watch this week’s episode of GameCrib.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a quick summary of this vid:

  • Chaox is officially KICKED off of TSM due to communication issues
  • We will find out more on the next Gamecribs episode.
  • TSM is in a weird state right now and is definitely hit by the roster changes
  • Chaox has officially moved out ASAP back to New York. TSM guys covered his back by not leaving him out on the streets.
  • Chaox was shaken and emotionally hit by the news today.
  • Future plans for Chaox: go home, relax, stream, and figure things out from there. Potentially could go to Asia and play/coach there.
  • Expect notable differences in playstyle for TSM.
  • To make it clear Chaox was replaced by WildTurtle due to communication conflicts with the team.
  • Dan mentions how Chaox's attitude towards some members of TSM was out of line.
  • In Dan's opinion Chaox being kicked out was expected and justified. (Note: In this part he was asked a question along the lines of whether he [Dan] thought it was justified dropping Chaox, and then Dan said it was justifiable since he knew the whole story.)
  • WildTurtle will be apart of the TSM household ASAP, in Dan's words, by the end of this coming week.
  • Dan's personal side of the story on ChaoX's departure: Wasn't really emotionally connected to Chaox but says he will definitely be missed.
  • Off what Dan said, the whole TSM team was again really sad about Chaox's departure.
  • Dan states that Chaox took the news hard at first, but when it eventually began to sink in Chaox took it like a champ.
  • Dan thinks that Chaox may find another team by the end of this season as long as his attitude is in the right place.
  • Dan again hints about footage in the upcoming gamecribs episode further explaining ChaoX's decision to be dropped.
  • TSM will continue to plug Chaox under the TSM streamers banner.
  • TSM will help Chaox in the search for a new team
  • TSM has even asked Riot about the possibility of finding Chaox a team in China since he speaks Chinese.

Chaox also shared his thought on Facebook:

First of all, I want to thank my friends, fans and family. Your support has really made the entire situation much more more manageable. Also shoutout to @DalaiLama for randomly being there when I got off the plane.
Do not be mistaken. I am sad. I'm sad that I was forcibly removed from something I worked so hard on for 2 years.
It was sudden. I was told that I'll be benched one day, then the next I'm kicked from the team and have to move out within 3 hours. I've never had such a hellish planeride, trapped to myself and my thoughts. Why? We'll chalk it up to personality conflicts. The truth is that the truth is an inconvenience at this point. The truth is I have no regrets.
What am I going to do from here? Most likely stream for awhile while I figure it out myself. A new team? Join an existing team? In asia? Coach? I don't know yet. But I'll be active in the League scene.
Thanks again for all the support.

TSM Tribute - Chaox

Xpecial - My Side

Video from SolomidDOTNet

We think the performance of TSM in March is horrible, and we have no idea whether TSM can achieve good performance on Season 3 after the leave of Rain Man and Chaox. We sincerely wish Chaox well as his fans whether he joins another team, becomes the coach or leaves the stage of League of Legends.

The Troll King? New Model for Trundle

Lead Content Designer Morello released the new model of Trundle in the forum. I feel the model less uglier after the change. Let’s watch it together.

What’s this…? Is this… a troll?

What’s a troll doing in the Freljord? Are we… trolling you?

On a more serious note, some of you will probably guess that if there’s a troll and he’s wielding a club… it’s Trundle! So we wanted to give you a taste of what’s to come, namely Trundle’s relaunch and his reimagining in the icy north.

While old Trundle certainly had a unique narrative and visual design, we always felt he was disconnected from the rest of the world. This inhibited the number of stories we could tell with Trundle and, well, we want to tell stories about him. Trundle’s upcoming changes include a gameplay update (more of a quality improvement than a rework – similar in scope to our Taric changes in 3.03), a new ice-themed aesthetic (if you couldn’t guess), and a new story that ties Trundle to the brewing conflict in the Freljord.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks, because we’ve got plans for Trundle – not to mention that Trundle has plans of his own!

You’ll have to wait to hear more, but here’s something to tide you over. As with Karma’s relaunch, anyone who owns Trundle before his relaunch will get this Traditional Trundle (has a nice ring to it) skin for free:

Thresh’s Splendid Kill

As the last new champion emerges in League of Legends, Thresh has a good performance both as support and top solo champion. With his Q to pull the target, W to gain a shield, R to slow the enemies and his passive to collect the souls of dead enemies to grant armor, he’s an excellent champion. Now let’s watch his splendid kill.

Udyr, the Animal Spirit. Gameplay.

Udyr is a very strong jungle champion. He can change among the four stances, each stance with five levels, which means you cannot reach the final level of one stance. So how to choose among the stances depends on you.
Please click here and go to the champion page for details about Udyr.
When you play Udyr:
Ø  Remember, every time when you change the stance, you will obtain the increase of defense and attack speed, which can stack three times.
Ø  The changeablestance can let you own various abilities. With these, you can easily gank and jungle.
When your opponents play Udyr:
Ø  Udyr owns four stances, and you need to have different methods to deal with different stances.
Ø  Stun ability under Bear Stance cannot be continuously triggered in the same target. When you or your teammates were stunned, you should quickly kill Udyr together with your teammates.
Ø  In early game, Udyr relies on blue buff a lot. If your team has strong control champions, you and your teammates should often go to jungle area to fight for blue buff.

League of Legends Karma Rework in PBE

The new Karma finally comes out after the rework. Her appearance is beautified and her skills are also changed. What will be her future as the once least popular champion?

Karma's New Skillset
Associate Live Designer Scarizard
So without further ado… here’s Karma’s new kit:

Passive: Gathering Fire
Damage from Karma’s spells and basic attacks lower Mantra’s cooldown.

R: Mantra
Empowers Karma’s abilities, adding an extra effect to the next ability cast.

Q: Inner Flame
Skillshot that deals magic damage and slows enemies.
Empowered by Mantra: Soulflare – Increases damage and leaves behind a zone that slows and, after a brief delay, explodes for AoE damage.

W: Focused Resolve
Enemy-targeted tether that deals damage over time. If the tether is unbroken after a short duration, the tethered target is rooted in place.
Empowered by Mantra: Renewal – Deals bonus damage and heals Karma for the duration of the tether.

E: Inspire
Shields an ally and grants them a short speed boost.
Empowered by Mantra: Defiance – Enemies near the shielded ally are damaged while nearby allies are shielded and granted a short speed boost.

Old Karma had issues. What were they?

Karma’s kit was in a weird place, but her ultimate was especially problematic. Her base abilities didn’t feel impactful and only felt effective when supercharged by Mantra. On top of that, when Karma had two charges of Mantra, we had to make both of them weaker to compensate for players double casting empowered spells.

The changes we made to Karma’s kit focused on making each decision fun and meaningful while giving her abilities the focus they needed to perform her intended role. We kept the “empowering”-type gameplay of Mantra, but instead of waiting around for it to recharge, Karma’s basic attacks and abilities now lower Mantra’s cooldown. This rewards aggressive play so you can “buyback” her ultimate. Also, we gave Mantra a single charge to pump extra power into each cast. We also made sure Mantra empowers Karma’s abilities in drastically different ways, leading to more impactful decision-making and a better feeling of accomplishment when you pull off the right move at the right time.

Why was she hard to place in team comps?

Karma had the offensive tools to support her team in small skirmishes but not the powerful defensive abilities she needed to protect a team. Also, her all-purpose abilities are so broad they never felt like the right choice in any situation. All in all, Karma lacked direction.

Why isn’t Karma fun?

The effectiveness of Karma’s abilities relied too heavily on your teammates knowing all their nuances. No matter how hard you were carrying with Karma, your teammates had to be just as good with her for you to be super effective. When an ally’s confused about whether or not he should run from or pass through your Spirit Bond, we probably made a mistake.

What did we like about Karma?

Despite all the Mantra hate we’ve got going on, we actually think the concept is pretty kickass. It’s unique and character-defining to old Karma, and augmenting her abilities with an immense surge of Ionian will is visually and thematically fun. We also liked how Karma could turn the tables on her opponents with abilities that provided defensive bonuses and had hidden offensive power. Finally, Spirit Bond’s “clothesline” gameplay is really cool, but it’d work better on a tank champion that has an easier time jumping into the fray.

Karma’s new role

Originally envisioned as a support, Karma’s fringe successes actually came from players using her in the top or mid lanes as an AP burst mage with support abilities, much like Zilean or Morgana. We like this direction and want to encourage you to boost both her offensive and support abilities by building AP. We also want to make sure she can hold her own as a solo or with a lane partner.

Finally, we’ve updated her skills so allies are reliant on Karma, but Karma’s not reliant on them. She’s got enough power at her fingertips to feel strong as a mage or as a support without teammates having to work in perfect concert for you to be effective.

Team Alternate acquires Team EloBlade

Known for being the first to ever break the 3000 rating mark, European League of Legends Player, ForellenLord, has decided to take his and his team's talents to Team Alternate.
Having already qualified for IPL 5 as Team Eloblade, Team Alternate will maintain their place and will play at IPL 5 in November.
A strong AP mid player, Carl “ForellenLord” Lückmann has proven his skill by surpassing millions of players in order to achieve the number one ranking in the EUW server. With a peak of exactly 3002 elo, ForellenLord has expressed his wishes to actively join the competitive scene. He is teamed up with some of the best players in his region, and will no doubt bring some trouble to the upcoming tournaments.
Markus “Kottten” Tingvall had once played for over five professional teams, including Absolute Legends and NaVi, and has proven himself to be a strong and deadly jungler. His experiences would no doubt provide a valuable addition to the team.
Adrian “Kerp” Wetekam, their solo top, is a strong and solid player, able to take on any role that is needed due to his knowledge of League of Legends. He has been a consistent high elo player, the secnd to reach 2700 elo only after ForellenLord.
The AD carry of the team is Tom “Metalx” Latour, hailing from the Netherlands, and is well known for his ability to stay calm in tight situations. His input would no doubt benefit the team during close and stressful matches.
Lastly but perhaps the most important addition is the support of the team, known as Lukasz “Leofromkorea” Mirek. He synergizes well with the AD carry, as both have rather relaxed personalities, and can coordinate well with the team in tense situations.
Former EPS Champion Raffael “cliff” Wagner and Jonathan “gin” Baumann will be managing this new team. They have been in charge of all Team Alternate League of Legends team so far and will only help Team Alternate grow to become a fearsome team.

World of Tanks Sets New Guinness World Record

Wargaming has made its mark in gaming history. World of Tanks has staked out a place as the Guinness World Recordholder for most players logged onto an MMO server, with 190,541 players simultaneously logged in on one of the game'sRussian servers.

Wargaming, World of Tanks, Guinness World Record, server, MMO, Russian

The previous record for this category, which also belonged to World of Tanks, was established on January 23, 2011 when we hit 91,311 players, less than half of the new record!

VP of Global Operations at Wargaming, Andrei Yarantsau, calls this "an important and exciting milestone for the company," adding that, "if World of Tanks keeps growing at the rate it is, and the game will soon top the current total and secure another world record."

Team Solomid Announced Three Substitutes

The well-known North American team Team Solomid announced their three new substitutes recently. In order to achieve a better place in Season 3, TSM are preparing well for the matches and this time staff supply is also a special operation for Season 3. The three substitutes are Dan Dinh, Daryl “wingsofdeathx” Hennegan and Jason “WildTurtle” Tran.

Team Solomid, TSM,lol,Season 3

Dan Dinh

First up we have the one and only Dan Dinh; if you have any interest in professional League of Legends, you know who this man is. A pro, on and off, since 2010 and founding member of the team Epik Gamer, Dan has more tournament experience than many of the other players in the LCS. He focuses on jungle and plays far more champions in the jungle than most can, to the point where he was the only player who made jungle Eve work reliably in early Season 3.

Daryl “wingsofdeathx” Hennegan

Next up: Daryl “wingsofdeathx” Hennegan. Another former Epik Gamer player remained with the team after they transitioned into being TSM Evo. While wings has only been in the pro-scene since the middle of last year, he made quite the splash. Known for strong mechanics, with very good game knowledge and a deep champion pool, wings is a strong addition to any team. He was most famous for his Lee Sin, Riven and Kennen in Season 2 and is credited with being one of the first people to start building AP Kennen with ADmsteries and a Doran’s Blade for early lane dominance.

 Jason “WildTurtle” Tran

Last but most certainly not least we have Jason “WildTurtle” Tran. Mr. Turtle has been around for quite a while, though often in the sidelines. He helped Monomaniac (currently called GGU after a long stretch of being Team Dynamic) qualify for IPL4. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to attend himself and parted ways with the team. He took the spotlight at IPL Faceoff, while subbing for Team Legion, where he wrecked Misaya in midlane. He joined oRb, which became Quantic and then Cloud9, which was the biggest upset in the LCS qualifiers when they did not make it. WildTurtle managed to shine through however and we welcome him to the TSM bench.

PATCH 3.03 has been released. And in this patch, the new champion - Quinn and Valor and new skins - Phoenix Quinn, and Celestine Soraka have been launched. It may be fatal for Darius since his R gets nerfed greatly (sorry that the patch news is late +_+).

New champion & new skins

Quinn and Valor

Phoenix Quinn

Celestine Soraka

Amumu
These changes slightly reduced Amumu’s burst damage and allow his opponents to spread out during team fights, avoiding all being locked down by Curse of the Sad Mummy.

Ashe
As a classic ranged AD carry, we wanted to make her standout as a bigger late game threat.

Darius
These changes reduce Darius’ ability to snowball during the laning phase while preserving his multi-kill chains of Noxian Guillotine in team fights.

    • Cooldown adjusted to 120/100/80 seconds from 100 at all ranks

Fiddlesticks
  • Several of Fiddlesticks' visual effects have been updated

    • Heal amount reduced to 0.4% of maximum Health per second from 0.5%
  • Decisive Strike
  • Fixed a bug where the cast time was faster than intended

  • Courage
  • Demacian Justice

Hecarim
These changes make Hecarim’s durability more consistent by smoothing out his early game jungle clear while reducing his late game survivability in team fights.

Janna
  • Monsoon
    • Mana cost reduced to 100/150/200 from 150/225/300

Kassadin
We’ve made Nether Blade consistent against all structures. As an already effective mobile assassin, Kassadin does not need unnecessary pushing power.
  • Nether Blade
    • Fixed a bug where Kassadin's basic attacks with Nether Blade active triggered Muramana's active damage more than once
    • Nether Blade's active no longer deals damage to inhibitors or the nexus

  • Aspect of the Cougar
  • No longer grants bonus Armor or Magic Resist

Renekton
  • Ruthless Predator
    • Fixed a bug where Ruthless Predator was unable to critically strike on any of the attacks; Ruthless Predator can now critically strike on the first attack

Taric
These changes provide opponents with early lane counterplay to Taric by reducing the amount of passive Armor granted by Shatter. In return, Taric is gaining meaningful ways to potentially scale into the later game, new itemization options and better ability to engage his opponents at close range.
  • Base Attack Damage reduced to 57 from 62
  • Gemcraft - Remade
    • Taric's basic attacks deal bonus magic damage equal to 2% of his maximum Mana; this bonus damage is doubled against champions
  • Shatter
  • Passive Armor aura adjusted to 12% of Taric's Armor from 10/15/20/25/30 (Taric's self-Armor bonus remains 10/15/20/25/30)
  • Active damage now additionally scales with 30% of Taric's Armor
  • Mana cost reduced to 50 at all ranks from 50/60/70/80/90

Tristana
As with Ashe, we wanted to make her standout as a bigger late game threat.
  • Attack Speed per level increased to 4% from 3.01%

Tryndamere
These changes preserve the intended gameplay and counterplay of Bloodlust by forcing AP Tryndamere build up Fury before being able to fully take advantage of his heal. Using Bloodlust at 100 Fury will result in the same 1.5 AP ratio as before the patch.
  • Bloodlust
    • Ability Power ratio adjusted to 0.3 + 0.012 per Fury consumed (total 1.5 at maximum Fury) from 1.5

  • Mana per level increased to 35 from 27
  • Tumble
    • Mana cost reduced to 30 from 40

  • Base Attack Damage reduced to 54 from 58
  • Vault Breaker
    • Vault Breaker now goes on a 3 second cooldown and refunds 50% of the Mana cost when interrupted instead of fully refreshing the cooldown and refunding 100% of the Mana cost
  • Denting Blows
  • Damage reduced to 4/5.5/7/8.5/10% of maximum Health from 6/7/8/9/10%

These changes reduce Xin Zhao’s ability to stick to his target in early engagements and reduce his burst damage especially when building purely defensive items.

League of Legends

League of Legends (LoL) is a multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games for Microsoft Windows, inspired by the popular Defense of the Ancients  map for Warcraft III. It was first announced on October 7, 2008, and released on October 27, 2009.The game was in a closed beta from April 10, 2009, to October 22, 2009.It then transitioned to open beta until release.

Players are formed into 2 even teams of Champions, 3v3 or 5v5. As of January 23, 2013, there are 110 different champions from which to choose. Each player begins at opposing sides of a map in an area called the Spawning Pool, near what is called a Nexus. A match is won when either team's nexus is destroyed. To destroy a Nexus, each team must work through a series of Turrets placed along a path to each base referred to as a Lane. Along the way, each player gains levels from killing the opposing team's champions and Minions (NPCs that constantly spawn and attack the other team) and defeating neutral monsters. Completing objectives rewards players with gold which is used to purchase items.
